Police: KKK recruitment flyers found in Loudoun Co.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating KKK recruitment flyers that have been found around Loudoun County throughout the weekend.

Leesburg police said they responded to reports of KKK material found in plastic bags on driveways in the neighborhood on Saturday.

On Sunday, around 9:30 a.m., KKK propaganda flyers, two of them containing CDs, were found in driveways in the 39000 block of Catoctin Ridge Street in Paeonian Springs, according to Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 11 a.m., the sheriff’s office received additional reports from residents of KKK propaganda flyers found on driveways, near mailboxes and sidewalks in the New Town Meadows community in Lovettsville.

All flyers were found in plastic bags that contained birdseed.

Police said they don’t believe the households that received the flyers were targeted.

Police said some of the KKK material found through the weekend were similar to the flyers found in the county a few days before MLK Day.

Officials with Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and Leesburg police are working together to trace the origins of the KKK material.
