Maryland man arrested in string of Northern Virginia tire thefts

WASHINGTON — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Maryland man Wednesday suspected in a rash of tire and rim thefts throughout Northern Virginia.

Jason L. Brooks, 38, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, has been charged with six counts of grand larceny, six counts of grand larceny with intent to sell and four counts of destruction of property. Authorities said there may be additional charges.

The sheriff’s office said Brooks stole tires and rims at several locations in the Leesburg area between May and September, including at Mill Site Place, Cross Brook Place, McIntosh Place and Mills Branch Place.
