Woman runner tackled in assault in Lansdowne area

WASHINGTON — A man tackled a woman who was running in the Lansdowne area of Loudoun County, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The attack happened around 5:45 a.m. Thursday in the area of Riverside Parkway and Kipheart Drive.

The sheriff’s office says the victim was able to fight off the man and run to a passer-by who drove her home. She then reported the incident to authorities.

The attacker is described as a black male wearing possibly a gray hoodie with the hood up. He may have been wearing khaki pants.

The sheriff’s office says he ran off toward the Lansdowne Town Center.
