WASHINGTON — All lanes of the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway approaching the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Oxon Hill, Maryland reopened 3 1/2 hours after a fatal crash Friday morning.
One person died in the four-car crash, according to Prince George’s County Fire spokesman Mark Brady says the crash injured three others.
Three others were hurt. One person has life-threatening injuries. The other two people have injuries that are not life-threatening.
The Thru Lanes between Md. 210 and the bridge closed at 6:30 a.m., causing huge delays into Prince George’s County. The Local Lanes remained open.
By 8:40 a.m., the left shoulder was getting by the scene, and just before 9:30 a.m., one left lane reopened.
Brady says crews closed the Thru and Local Lanes when they responded to the scene, to give first responders ample room to safely work.
Maryland State Police are investigating to determine what caused the crash.
