WASHINGTON — Metro riders experienced delays Tuesday evening after a series of problems.
First, a disabled train slowed the Orange-Blue-Silver line.

Then, around 5 p.m., Metro Police say a man pulled the emergency door release just as his train was leaving L’Enfant Plaza. The man, who was with a child, then exited the train.
That held trains back for 15 minutes, and was followed by a signal issue at L’Enfant Plaza, backing up Green and Yellow line trains for an additional hour.
Metro Police say no one was hurt when the emergency door release was pulled.
Officers responded to L’Enfant, confirmed that male/child were not in tunnel or on track. No injuries. Officers out with subject now. #wmata
