It’s a forecast to love on Valentine’s Day! It will be a freezing cold start, but temperatures will climb into the 50s by the afternoon. With relatively light winds and sunshine, expect a lot more snow to melt. If you have dinner plans, temperatures will fall into the 40s, so it won’t be terribly cold.
SUNDAY:

Highs: 40s
Winds: East 5-10 mph
First Alert Weather is tracking our next weather maker that will bring areas of rain to the DMV. Rain showers in the D.C. Metro area are most likely during the afternoon and evening hours. Rainfall totals will range from .25 – .50″. There’s still a chance a few wet snowflakes could mix in at night; however, no snowfall accumulation is expected with temperatures well above freezing.
PRESIDENTS’ DAY MONDAY:
Mostly cloudy
Highs: 47-52
Winds: Northeast 5-10 mph
The wet weather will have exited the region, but clouds will be tough to clear. Temperatures will start off above freezing, in the mid 30s and then will climb to the upper 40s to lower 50s by afternoon. This will set the stage for an entire week ahead of above average highs in the 50s!
