2 hurt in Howard County crash

WASHINGTON — Two people were hurt in Ellicott City when the car they were in went off the road and struck trees.

Driver Eric Todd Pakulla, 45, and passenger Renee Antoinette Jefferson, 46, both of Ellicott City, were taken to the hospital. Pakulla has critical injuries; Jefferson is in stable condition, a news release said.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. on Saturday. Pakulla was driving a 2015 McLaren Spider eastbound on Carroll Mill Road east of Mount Albert Road when it went off the road.

Police are investigating what caused the crash. Roads in the area were closed for two hours.
