Puppy abandoned in container gets new home: ‘We didn’t think that he would survive’

WASHINGTON — After making a remarkable recovery, the starving puppy found abandoned in a plastic storage bin in Howard County, Maryland, last month, has now been adopted.

“We are so happy and excited,” Howard County Police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn told WTOP

Emaciated and with scabs of skin falling off his coat and phlegmy eyes, Eddy was barely able to stand when he was found in Columbia, Maryland, on March 25.

“We didn’t think that he would survive,” Llewellyn said.

Now, Eddy is in great health after a month of loving care.

An animal control officer even took Eddy home every night to nurse him back to health, Llewellyn said, while noting there still may be more to this story.

“We’re still seeking information about the person who abandoned Eddy,” Llewellyn said. “There are criminal charges pending against whoever is responsible.”
