WASHINGTON — Free outdoor fitness classes will be available in Georgetown Waterfront Park through September as part of the Georgetown Business Improvement District’s “Healthy Days of Summer” promotion.
The promotion, which kicks off June 8, includes classes and healthy food options, among other promotions designed to highlight the health and wellness options within the neighborhood. The classes, known as “Sunset Fitness in the Park,” are the highlight of the project.
The hourlong classes will be held twice weekly from June 8 to Sept. 2, with different Georgetown-based gyms and fitness studios leading each one.
The full list of classes and healthy deals can be found on the Georgetown website.
The classes do require registration and are capped at 50 people.
Washington, D.C., was recently named the most fit city in America when the American College of Sports Medicine and the Anthem Foundation released the 2015 American Fitness Index last month.
