WASHINGTON — A man is in custody after police said he shot and killed another man following a dispute Thursday night in Great Falls, Virginia.

Manvinder Aulakh, 22, of McLean, has been charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, Fairfax County police said.

The shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. Thursday at Vapology101 in the 10100 block of Colvin Run Road. Officers found the victim, 21-year-old Bao Hung Van of Herndon, dead at the scene. Police said the suspect was still at the business when officers arrived; he was taken into custody without incident.

Police are calling the victim an acquaintance of Aulakh; they said the shooting was an “an isolated incident involving parties who knew each other.”

Detectives are still investigating what led up to the shooting, police added.

Aulakh is being held without bond.
