WASHINGTON — Fairfax County police have released a sketch of the man suspected of dragging a 22-year-old woman off the sidewalk and attempting to sexually assault her in a wooded area of Reston earlier this week.
The woman told police she was walking in the 12000 block of North Shore Drive near the Tall Oaks Shopping Center about 2:30 p.m., Aug. 14, when a man approached her from behind, dragged her into the woods and began trying to remove her clothes. The man left suddenly and fled the area in a gray or silver four-door vehicle, she told police.
The suspect is described as being between 20-30 years old, with a stocky build and wore a red baseball cap.
Fairfax County police said they have canvassed the area and are continuing to investigate.
In a release, police said any information provided by the public “could be the critical link in solving this case.”
