Charlotte Flair follows in father’s title-winning footsteps

WASHINGTON — On July 13, 2015, Charlotte Flair debuted as part of the Divas Revolution along with fellow NXT Superstars Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.

Just a little over two months later, she became a champion, knocking off the longest reigning Divas Title holder Nikki Bella at “Night of Champions” in Houston.

She celebrated with her father, 16-time world champion “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

WTOP spoke with her about Thursday’s premiere of “WWE Smackdown” on USA Network, the feeling of raising the belt for the first time on the main roster, and tips on staying in shape in 2016.
