WASHINGTON — Hearts — and imaginations — were atwitter, literally, as rumors flew Friday, suggesting that Prince Harry and Emma Watson have been dating.
“Could the dreamboat royal have found his very own future princess? Emma and Prince Harry have reportedly gone on super secret dates together, and now the royal is totally ‘smitten’ with Emma!” blared Hollywood Life on Friday afternoon.
“After numerous failed relationships, it looks like notorious bachelor Prince Harry has found love with gorgeous Harry Potter star Emma Watson,” declared Woman’s Day, which said Friday that it “can exclusively reveal the pair are having secret dates with each other and are getting to know each other quite well.”
Reports suggest it was Harry, 30, who reached out to Hermione — that’s Watson — who pretty much grew up on screen as Harry Potter’s intrepid Hogwarts classmate in the blockbuster, eight-film Harry Potter series. Now 24, she is a graduate of Brown, activist and celebrity icon in her own right. Prince Harry, scion of the British Royal Family, has been known for his carefree ways but also for his charity and work with veterans.
The romantics might be a bit deflated as Watson herself weighed in on Twitter Sunday morning with a coy response:
