Update 01/01/18 2:30 p.m.: D.C. police tweeted Monday afternoon that both girls had been found safe.

WASHINGTON — Two sisters from Southeast, D.C. have been missing since New Year’s Eve and police believe they may be together.

Paris May Williams, 11, and Laila Emoni McNeil, 7, were both last seen at around 4 p.m. Sunday on the 700 block of 12th Street in Southeast. The girls are critically missing because of the extremely cold weather, D.C. police spokesperson Sean Hickman said.

Williams is 5-foot-1 and weighs about 120 pounds. She has dark eyes and long braided hair. She was last seen wearing a gold and gray coat with black cuffs and gray Ugg-like boots with a fleece lining. She also was wearing blue jeans with a metallic gold number 7 on them, a metallic gold shirt with the word “Paris” on the front.

McNeil is 4 feet tall and weighs about 60 pounds. She is described as thin and was last seen wearing a pink coat, blue jeans and a long-sleeved white shirt.

D.C. police ask anyone with information on the missing girls to call Youth and Family Services at 202-576-6768 or the Command Information Center at 202-727-9099.
