WASHINGTON — The Nation’s Capitol is getting in the Christmas spirit.

The US Capitol Christmas tree arrived to the Capitol grounds Monday all the way from Montana — a 3,000 mile journey.

The tree is a 79-foot Englemann Spruce and will be placed on the West Front Lawn.

The tree lighting ceremony is slated for Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
