Power restored to more than 1,000 in D.C.

UPDATE 9:18 a.m. April 1, 2016: Power has been restored, Pepco reports.

WASHINGTON — More than 1,000 people are without power in Northeast D.C. on Friday morning.

Pepco is reporting about 1,100 customers without service around Florida, New York and West Virginia avenues. The utility says a damaged underground power line is to blame, and predict power will be back on about 9.
