WASHINGTON — A baby was found abandoned on a busy D.C. street, and the child’s aunt was arrested a block away Tuesday.
The infant was found in a stroller on E Street Northwest, near the D.C. Court of Appeals Tuesday afternoon as temperatures soared near 90 degrees.
Police say the baby’s aunt was charged with second-degree cruelty.
The baby is fine and in the custody of D.C. Child and Family Services, NBC Washington reports.
The baby’s parents have been located.
This is the second time in a week that an infant has been found abandon in the region. The other baby was found along a road in Pasadena, Maryland Saturday.
