2 charged in D.C. child sex trafficking case

WASHINGTON — Two people have been charged in connection with a child sex trafficking investigation in D.C.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the arrests involved the pandering and trafficking of juvenile sex workers, physical sexual abuse of juvenile victims and the distribution of marijuana.

The alleged offenses happened on June 26 along the 3800 block of South Capitol Street, Southeast.

A 35-year-old Southeast man was charged with first degree child sex abuse, pandering, sex trafficking of children and distribution of marijuana. D.C. Police did not release his name.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jarnese Harris, also of Southeast, was charged with sex trafficking of children.

No additional information about the investigation has been released at this time.
