Signage fixed on I-395 in the District

WASHINGTON — Ten months after the District Department of Transportation was notified that a number of signs above the Southeast-Southwest Freeway were incorrect, crews this weekend were seen taking down the erroneous signage.

In February, drivers noticed that the ramps at one of the city’s busiest junctions – the Southwest Freeway at the 3rd Street Tunnel – were mislabeled as Exit 2A and 2B.

On Sunday, crews in bucket trucks were seen taking down a misaligned exit sign for South Capitol Street. In the days prior, three erroneous exit signs for C Street SW were removed. The exit sign for I-695 to I-295 was also corrected to read “Exit 5” instead of “Exit 2A.”
