WASHINGTON — A brake problem caused smoke to be seen near an Orange Line Metro train Friday morning — just a few days after an Yellow Line train filled with smoke, causing one death and injuring dozens more.
On Friday morning, Metro riders saw smoke near an Orange Line train in Rosslyn at about 9:30 a.m. Metro Spokesman Dan Stessel says it involved a brake problem and it was an isolated incident.
The train has been taken out of service and there are no major disruptions.
The smoke rattled commuters after a Yellow Line Metro train filled with smoke near L’Enfant Plaza Monday. One woman — 61-year-old Carol Glover — died Monday after being trapped in the train. More than 80 people were taken to hospitals.
