WASHINGTON — Pike & Rose in North Bethesda is getting “The Beach.”
Owner Federal Realty is turning a portion of a parking lot into a large outdoor space, complete with more than 250 tons of sand.
The Beach will be open daily next to Rose Park and is intended as a place for dining (there are plenty of choices for food), playing games or just hanging out.
On weekends, it will feature the Beach Bar, hosted by Bethesda-based Ridgewells Catering, serving beach inspired cocktails, beer and wine and light snacks.
Pike & Rose also plans free fitness classes and pop-up parties throughout the summer at The Beach.
You can watch The Beach and all the tons of sand being trucked in via a special Pike & Rose webcam.
