Under Armour data breach affects 150M MyFitnessPal app users

WASHINGTON — The data of up to 150 million users of Under Armour Inc.’s food and nutrition application and website MyFitnessPal may have been compromised.

Baltimore-based Under Armour said that on March 25, its MyFitnessPal team discovered an unauthorized party had acquired data associated with user accounts in late February. The company said it took immediate steps to determine the nature and scope of the problem.

Personal information affected includes user names and email addresses. Credit card information was not affected, Under Armour said.

Under Armour says it is notifying affected MyFitnessPal users and is requiring them to change their passwords.

It gave no other information on the data breach.

Under Armour says it is currently working with leading data security firms in the investigation and coordinating with law enforcement.
