WASHINGTON — Wendy’s trots out the newest burger in the ongoing fast food battle over burgers: The Smoky Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger.
The burger, clocking in at 760 calories, includes smoked, sautéed portabella mushrooms, melted Asiago cheese, crispy Applewood smoked bacon and crunchy fried onions.
Customers can also order all of that as a stuffed baked potato too.
The burger is $4.99 while the stuffed potato version is $2.99.
Last summer, McDonalds introduced a line of premium sandwiches called Signature Crafted, either hamburger or chicken, that includes toppings like maple bacon Dijon, BBQ sauce, and Pico Guacamole, priced around $5.
Last month, Burger King launched a massive Double Quarter Pound King Sandwich, with two beef patties totaling a half a pound, and two slices of American cheese. The burger clocked in at 900 calories.
