Pike & Rose gets The Baked Bear ice cream sandwich shop

WASHINGTON — San Diego-based The Baked Bear will open its first East Coast location at North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose, the latest in the growing list of dining choices at Pike & Rose.

The Baked Bear will open next spring at 929 Rose Ave.

The Baked Bear has close to a dozen locations in California, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Oklahoma. It is known for its original-recipe craft ice cream that is sandwiched between freshly baked cookies, brownies and doughnuts.

Customers can mix and match their top and bottom. The sandwiches can also be rolled through toppings like Fruity Pebbles, Oreo crumbs, Nutella and Heath Bar bits.

The ice cream sandwiches are then hot pressed.

Other additions to Pike & Rose include JINJA Ramen Bar and Mexican restaurant Nada, which is opening its first East Coast location. Both are set to open early next year.

Three-year-old Pike & Rose now has more than a dozen restaurants and several large retailers, including Washington’s newest REI store, bowling alley and bistro Pinstripes and LL Bean, which opens Nov. 11.
