Georgetown’s Graham hotel to join Hilton’s Tapestry Collection

WASHINGTON —  The Graham Georgetown, a boutique hotel on Thomas Jefferson Street in Georgetown, will be the latest addition to Hilton’s new Tapestry Collection, which launched earlier this year.

The management change will take place in early 2018, although Hilton said there will be no disruption in service.

The Graham underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation several years ago that increased the number of rooms from 38 to 57, including 32 one-bedroom suites.

The hotel’s best amenity is the rooftop lounge, the Observatory, that provides sweeping views of Georgetown, the Potomac River and the monuments on the National Mall. The lounge is popular with both guests and locals.

The hotel also includes a full service restaurant, The Alex, and The Alex Craft Cocktail Cellar & Speakeasy, which hosts live music performances.

There is also the Frank Sinatra Suite, named after the rumored hotel regular. It includes a 200-square-foot outdoor deck.

The hotel has changed ownership twice in the past six years.

Originally opened as the Hotel Monticello in 1962, it was sold to Mast Capital in 2011 and reopened as the Graham Georgetown in 2013.

Legacy Hotel Group, owned by Dwight and Lynn Curry, acquired the hotel from Mast Capital in 2016.

“Our family has enjoyed our strong business relationship with Hilton for two decades, opening the first newly constructed Hilton Garden Inn in 1988. We are thrilled to again be part of the launch of another great new Hilton brand, and couldn’t ask for a better fit for our historic Georgetown hotel,” said Dwight Curry.

Hilton’s Tapestry Collection focuses on independently owned, upscale hotels.
