Top 10 US landmarks to visit — and which DC icon makes the list

WASHINGTON — Tourists comes to D.C. for the museums and monuments, but a TripAdvisor list of the Top 10 Landmarks in the U.S. includes only one of Washington’s iconic landmarks.

The Lincoln Memorial ranks No. 2 on the list, behind the Golden Gate Bridge.

TripAdvisor said it bases the list on an algorithm that takes into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for landmarks gathered over a 12-month period.

The list also includes the top-rated tours that go along with each landmark. For the Lincoln Memorial, it is the Washington DC Monuments Bike Tour.

TripAdvisor’s Top 10 Landmarks the U.S.:
