WASHINGTON — Cal Ripken Jr.’s 25-acre Tufton Farms estate in Reisterstown, Maryland, has been on the market since last April, following Ripken’s divorce from wife Kelly, and, at $12.5 million, it has not yet found a buyer.
The listing agency,
Monument Sotheby’s International Realty has now slashed the price from the original asking price of $12. 5 million to $9.75 million.
For that, you get a six-bedroom main house with 10 full baths, four fireplaces, a theater and an eight-car garage.
The gated estate also includes a guesthouse, a pool and cabana, a lake and a dock, and a full-sized baseball diamond.
Ripken lived in the home, custom-built in 1985, for 30 years.
The Baltimore Business Journal first reported on the price reduction, and quoted listing agent Charlie Hatter as saying in the luxury market, anything priced under $10 million attracts more clientele.
