Southwest’s 72-hour fare sale is back but with restrictions

WASHINGTON — Southwest is offering another three-day ticket sale with fares below $100 round trip to some destinations.

Last year, a similar sale was so popular that it crashed the air carrier’s website. This latest sale runs through 11:59 p.m. on June 9.

Domestic fares start at $49 each way, but most are good only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Saturdays between Aug. 23 and Dec. 14. Travel to Florida and Nevada destinations is only valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Some international fares to destinations that include Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta are as low as $99 each way and are valid Sundays through Wednesdays with return flights available only Tuesdays through Fridays.

Low fares to other destinations, including Costa Rica and Mexico City, are valid daily.

Interested travelers can see the full list of available cities for the three-day sale here.
