Southwest adds flights for busy BWI summer

WASHINGTON — Southwest Airlines is gearing up for a busy summer at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, adding additional daily flights to a half dozen cities, including Seattle, Denver and Orlando.

Southwest is also adding some additional Saturday flights.

The additional summer service runs from June 5 to August 6.

Southwest Airlines dominates BWI Airport, accounting for about 70 percent of its passengers.

Southwest will increase Sunday through Friday service by one additional nonstop daily flight to these destinations:

  • Oakland, California
  • Denver
  • Manchester-Boston Regional Airport
  • Hartford, Connecticut
  • Tampa, Florida
  • Orlando, Florida

And it will increase Saturday service by one flight to each of these cities:

  • Hartford, Connecticut
  • Seattle
  • Orlando, Florida
  • Nashville, Tennessee
  • Tampa, Florida
