WASHINGTON — Northwest D.C.’s Mount Vernon Triangle, one of the District’s hottest neighborhoods now, will get a combination luxury condo and hotel addition.
Los Angeles-based SBE will develop the SLS Lux Hotel & Residences at 901 5th St., NW, as part of The Peebles Corp.’s 250,000-square-foot mixed-use project.
It is The Washington region’s first SLS property.
The SLS Lux will include 198 hotel rooms and 59 SLS Lux-branded condominiums that will come with concierge service.
“Lux will be designed to indulge the most discriminating clientele,” Peebles said in a statement.
Condo owners will have preferred access to other SLS properties worldwide.
The Lux is expected to open this fall.
Peebles acquired the D.C. owned land at 901 5th St. in May 2014.
The “5th & I” development also will include 7,600 square feet of retail space and restaurants.
Hospitality company SBE has more than 80 high-end hotel, nightclub and restaurant properties, including Jose Andres’ The Bazaar by Jose Andres in South Beach, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas.
