Two young boys among multiple weekend shootings in Baltimore

WASHINGTON — Two young boys were shot in Baltimore Saturday night as they stood outside, adding to the escalating number of shootings in the city over the last month.

According to The Baltimore Sun, the two boys, ages 8 and 10, were outside at 10:41 p.m. in the 1600 block of Cliftview Avenue, “when at least one unknown suspect began shooting.”  The boys were hit in the back, and the suspect fled. They were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

Meanwhile, police are investigating two more shootings over the weekend. Police responded to a local hospital where a 28-year-old man was being treated for a shot to the shoulder in the  Brooklyn section of South Baltimore. Police also found a 25-year-old man shot in the elbow early Sunday morning in the southwest Baltimore neighborhood of Shipley Hill.  He was transported to an area hospital.
