WASHINGTON — Maryland authorities are searching a man who went missing at Sandy Point State Park Tuesday afternoon.
Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thompson says that 71-year-old Burns Brabham was on a trip to the park with his group home from Pennsylvania.
When the group got ready to leave the park at around 3 p.m., Thompson says they noticed he was missing and immediately reported it to police.
Brabham is described as a 5-foot-7 black man weighing about 230 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue and white plaid shirt (shown in the photo), blue jeans and dark shoes.
Brabham suffers from mental illness, is not familiar with the area and is legally blind. Police are concerned for his well-being.
Thompson says Natural Resources Police officers along with park rangers and state police have searched the water, woods and numerous areas of the park. A state police helicopter with infrared capabilities, as well as search dogs, are also assisting in the search for Brabham.
If you see Brabham or know his whereabouts, call police at 410-260-8888.
