DC’s ‘first family’ of eagles is set to welcome another new addition (photos)

WASHINGTON — The local eagles known as Mr. President and The First Lady are about to be proud parents again, just days after welcoming an eaglet to their nest high above the U.S. National Arboretum.

An egg affectionately named “DC7” began pipping (or cracking) early Wednesday morning, the American Eagle Federation reported. The hatch could happen at any moment, officials said.

Mr. President and The First Lady welcomed older sibling “DC6” into the world on Monday.

Want to follow along with the hatching? You’re in luck: It’s being live-streamed on the D.C. Eagle Cam.
