WASHINGTON — Some residents in two Alexandria neighborhoods were left high and dry after water main breaks Tuesday.

Some 200 Virginia American Water customers and 29 fire hydrants have no water service Tuesday night, following water main breaks at Janneys Lane and North Quaker Lane, and at Trinity Drive.

One lane of North Quaker Lane will be closed to traffic in each direction as crews repair the break. Drivers should avoid the area or seek alternate routes.
