LISTEN: Highlights Capitals-Hurricanes Round 1 Game 5

The Washington Capitals beat the Carolina Hurricanes 6-0 in Game 5 of their first-round series Saturday. With the win, the Capitals lead the series 3-games-to-2.

Nicklas Backstrom had two goals and two assists and Alex Ovechkin had a goal and two assists as the Capitals moved within a win of advancing to the second round.

Brett Connolly, Tom Wilson and Nic Dowd also scored in the Washington rout. Dowd became the first Capitals player in franchise history to score on a penalty shot in a postseason game. Braden Holtby earned a 30-save shutout.
