Multiple guns stolen from shooting range in Virginia

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Multiple guns have been stolen from a gun store and shooting range in Virginia.

The Lynchburg News & Advance reports that Campbell County Sheriff’s Maj. L.T. Guthrie said deputies responded to Lynchburg Arms & Indoor Shooting Range shortly past 3 a.m. Thursday, five minutes after the alarm activated.

He says a variety of firearms were stolen, including handguns and semi-automatic rifles. Guthrie did not say how many guns had been stolen and didn’t provide an estimate of their monetary value.

Sheriff’s Capt. Dwayne Wade said it seemed like the perpetrators were organized and prepared, as they were only there for “a matter of seconds.”

Surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspects, but their faces were concealed. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting with the investigation.
