10,000 backpacks: Prince George’s Co. Schools sets donation goals

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County Schools is challenging residents to get kids ready for the upcoming school year.

The school system wants to “Stuff-a-Bus” full of 10,000 backpacks and other school supplies for its 7th annual back-to-school fair.

PGCS is asking for donations of red, blue, yellow and green backpacks as well as wide-ruled composition books, college-ruled notebook paper, crayons, glue sticks, pencils, pens, highlighters and rulers.

There will be three donation events across the county over the next two weeks.

Tuesday, Aug. 1:
6:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m.
At the National Night Out at Largo Plaza Shopping Center, in front of Lowe’s
10500 Campus Way South, Upper Marlboro

Saturday, Aug. 5:
11 a.m.-3 p.m.
At the Ivy Youth and Family Center
6118 Walton Avenue, Suitland

Saturday, Aug. 12
11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Wegmans
9001 McHugh Drive, Lanham
