UPDATE Oct. 1, 1:33 p.m.: WASHINGTON — The Prince George’s County Police Department has identified the victims as 37-year-old Ernest Lott of Northeast and 43-year-old Garland Johnson, also of Northeast.
Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to reach out to police. There is a $25,000 reward being offered for anyone who can help.
EARLIER: Sept. 30, 11:14 p.m.: WASHINGTON — Police in Prince George’s County, Maryland, say two people were fatally shot Wednesday night in Capitol Heights.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. in the 6800 block of Central Avenue. Police say officers were called to the location to investigate the sound of shots fired, and found two males who had been shot. Both were pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say the shooting does not appear to be a random act. Detectives are working to identify a suspect or suspects and a motive.
No additional information has been released at this time.
