Passengers injured at Prince George’s County park after tram train ride falls over

WASHINGTON — A tram train ride at a park in Prince George’s County fell over around 4 p.m. Sunday and 20 people, including children, were being treated for injuries.

Prince George’s County Fire spokesman Mark Brady says that none of the injuries are serious but, of the 30 people on the ride, at least 20 were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The ride at Cosca Regional Park in Clinton fell over in a wooded area and Brady says it was on wheels, rather than tracks.

Brady told The Associated Press that while the tractor pulling the train-like cars overturned, the cars themselves did not. However, he says the adults and children on board had a “turbulent'” ride down a hill.

There’s no word yet on specific injuries, or what caused the vehicle to overturn.
