Police charge teen in 2 attempted murders in Clinton

WASHINGTON — The Prince George’s County Police Department charged a 16-year-old with the attempted murders of two teens who were shot inside his Clinton, Maryland, home Sunday.

Delano Dunmore, of the 7900 block of Clendinnen Drive, is charged as an adult with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder and assault charges, according to a news release.

Officers were called to Dunmore’s home shortly before 4 p.m. on Jan. 25. When they arrived, they found three teenage boys suffering from gunshot wounds.

One teenager was critically hurt. Another’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

An investigation found Dunmore shot the two teens, 16 and 17, then shot himself. His injuries were not life threatening.

The three had been playing video games when the shootings occurred.

All three teens attend Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro. All remain hospitalized.

Police say the teen’s mother legally owned the gun that was used in the shooting.

Dunmore is in custody at an area hospital. He is held without bond.
