Usain Bolt knocked down by runaway Segway

WASHINGTON — Usain Bolt’s victory lap after winning the 200 meters sprint at the World Championships in Beijing came to a crashing halt when he was knocked down by a cameraman riding a Segway.

The cameraman, who was recording Bolt’s interaction with fans, rolled over a support, and veered into Bolt, knocking the sprinter off his feet.

Bolt somersaulted, and quickly got to his feet. He had removed his shoes during the victory stroll around the stadium.

Video coverage by Universal Sports showed Bolt briefly rubbing his lower leg.

He showed an interviewer a minor cut on his leg, but said “accidents happen.”

Bolt says he will be fine for the 4×100 meter relay on Saturday.
