Va. woman says Santa swiped gifts at party (Video)

WASHINGTON — A Loudoun County woman says the Santa she hired for a party did the exact opposite of what jolly old St. Nick is supposed to do.

FOX5 reports that Andrea Dombrowski, of Leesburg, Virginia, hired a Santa Claus for her Christmas party last weekend. About 90 people showed up, and Santa made the rounds — mingling with the guests, posing for pictures and handing out gifts to the kids — but she also says various guests noticed he hit the bar a few times.

The guest say the man also went in and out of the house a few times. And went through pockets in the coat room. And hid something behind the sofa.

Dombrowski showed FOX5 an email she says was from the Santa, in which he apologized for taking what he called “leftover” gifts. He sent a few back.

The theft is bad enough, Dombrowski says, but the betrayal of trust is even worse — she’s hired this Santa before, she tells FOX5.

“I’ve actually tupperwared home leftovers for him,” she said.

She also feels embarrassed in front of her guests.
