Memphis announces Damien Wilson is transferring

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Memphis guard Damien Wilson is transferring.

In a school release Friday, Memphis coach Josh Pastner said, “Damien is in good academic standing at the university, but he shared with me that he’d like a fresh start. We support Damien and wish him all the best.”

Wilson averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds while playing in 15 games for Memphis as a sophomore last season. He played in 28 games as a freshman and averaged 1.7 points, 0.9 rebounds and 4.8 minutes.

The 6-foot-5 Wilson is from Atlanta and played at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, before enrolling at Memphis.
