FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Police in Frederick say they have arrested three people for breaking into the abandoned Frederick Towne Mall.

Police say that around 3:30 a.m. Sunday an officer on patrol saw that one of the mall’s doors had been pried open. Officers went inside the building and found and arrested three men. Police say their motive for breaking into the mall is unclear. All three have been charged with burglary and trespassing.

Police identified the three men as: 23-year-old Joseph Franklin Basford of Rohersville, 22-year-old Brandon Michael Paternoster of Jefferson and 23-year-old Mitchell Adam Jasek of Keedysville.

An online court record system did not list attorneys for any of the men.
