CINCINNATI (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano from the 15-day disabled list to start Sunday’s game at Cincinnati.
The Pirates optioned infielder Matt Hague to Triple-A Indianapolis to make room on the roster for Liriano.
Liriano went on the disabled list on June 11, one day after leaving his start against the Chicago Cubs with a left oblique strain.
Hague was promoted from Indianapolis on Wednesday and was 0 for 2 in three games.
