SmarTrip cards go on sale at area Walmarts

WASHINGTON — SmarTrip cards can now be purchased, or have value added to them, at some Walmart stores in the D.C. area.

The following Walmart stores currently offer the service:

  • 6210 Annapolis Road, Landover Hills, Maryland 20784
  • 99 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001
  • 5929 Georgia Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001
  • 1500 B Cornerside Boulevard, Vienna, Virginia 22182

Some major retailers already offer this service, like CVS and Giant. The cards cost $10 and come loaded with $8 in fare initially.
