The Embassy Suites at Chevy Chase Pavilion is set for a major facelift.

The 198-room hotel in Friendship Heights will undergo a $10.5 million renovation starting July 13 that will bring a new entrance, expanded restaurant and bar and hardwood floors to each room.

According to a press release, the renovation will also include two new “premium floors” with suites containing 55-inch HD televisions and access to an “exclusive refreshment center.”

The hotel opened in 1990 with the Chevy Chase Pavilion, the indoor and outdoor retail space in the ritzy shopping district around the Friendship Heights Metro station.

The full renovation, designed by HVS Design and Jonathan Nehmer & Associates out of Rockville, will be complete in October and include a new lobby, new 20-seat lounge called Willies Bar and reconfigured Atrio Cafe.
