SoulCycle says it’s coming to Bethesda this fall

Another specialty fitness studio is coming to Bethesda.

SoulCycle, the indoor cycling chain that’s proven successful in New York City, California and the Hamptons, says it’s following up its first D.C. location with one in Bethesda this fall.

According to Racked DC, the chain made the announcement in a press release.

SoulCycle’s workouts are 45-minutes long and start at $34 for individual classes. The chain has garnered a ton of press, much of it focused on the gym’s “cult-like following.” That phrase appears in many SoulCycle stories.

This is how the SoulCycle website describes the experience:

At SoulCycle we believe that fitness can be joyful. We climb, we jog, we sprint, we dance, we set our intention, and we break through boundaries. The best part? We do it together, as a community. …

SoulCycle doesn’t just change bodies, it changes lives. With inspirational instructors, candlelight, epic spaces, and rocking music, riders can let loose, clear their heads and empower themselves with strength that lasts beyond the studio walls.

The company, founded in 2006, is in the middle of a major expansion plan after Equinox bought it in 2011. It’s D.C. location is expected to open this summer.

PureRyde, a spin and pilates studio, opened recently in Bradley Shopping Center this year. It’s one of the many specialty fitness studios opening in Bethesda this year.
