Livestock feed company plans Hagerstown, Md., jobs

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A livestock feed producer says it expects to create about 20 jobs within two years at its new distribution center in Hagerstown.

The Herald-Mail (http://bit.ly/RH6GTS ) reported Monday that Standlee Premium Western Forage of Kimberly, Idaho, has set up its first Northeastern distribution hub in Hagerstown.

Northeast sales director Laura Marie Kramer says the city’s location at the intersection of two interstate highways was part of its appeal.

The company’s products arrive in Hagerstown by rail and are then shipped by truck to states in the mid-Atlantic, New England, Midwest and east-central regions of the United States.

The company also has distribution centers in Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.
