ALEXANDRIA – Although food trucks are legal in Arlington and in Washington, Alexandria does not allow them – but that is changing.
City Council members Saturday got an earful of comments from residents, food trucks owners, food truck fans. Some residents worried about potential litter and “marring” Alexandria’s character. Others were excited about possibility of more affordable, convenient food.
The council voted to allow food trucks, but they are continuing to debate limits on where food trucks may be allowed. However, city officials are certain they will require licensing, permitting and health inspections.
